Spring Equinox Sunrise at Cahokia Mounds

Reconstructed Woodhenge sun calendar about one mile west of the Interpretive Center on Collinsville Road. Participants should arrive by 6:45 a.m. to hear an explanation by an archaeologist about how the Woodhenges were discovered, how they work, and what is known about them and the Mississippian Indian culture that built them and the prehistoric city of Cahokia. Out of respect for American Indian people, there will be no rituals or ceremonies conducted. |

Benefit for medical expense incurred by Jason Mines and his family, Roxy, Brody, & Carter. Jason has inoperable brain cancer. This is a semi-formal event. Jeans are not permitted into the event. Doors open @ 6pm, the Cheese Hill Downs Mouse Races start @ 6:30pm. Bring your money and start placing bets on these mice as they race through the mini obstacle course. They come with their own statistics. There are 7 races. In between the races, there will be mouse roulette. DJ Troy "T-Bone" Kueker will be DJing the event and after the races, there will be dancing. You are allowed to bring in your own snacks. You can buy tickets in advance or pay at the door. The price is $15 a ticket and includes all you can drink draft beer. Bring your friends and family. Let's make this a county wide event! Come out show your support and this gives everyone an excuse to dress up a little.
